On November 21, the 2nd IAG Partner Roundtable 2017 took place in Düsseldorf. As a certified Micro Focus Identity & Access Management (IAM) partner, we had the opportunity to participate with several consultants and receive first-hand updates on the latest developments in the Identity, Access and Governance (IAG) solution area.

This new event series for technical IAM consultants from Micro Focus partners was launched earlier this year. It is designed to allow partners to submit product-related questions or topic requests in advance, which are then incorporated into the agenda. The first IAG Partner Roundtable was held in July and received consistently positive feedback. Due to numerous requests from partners and previous participants, a second roundtable was organized.

The agenda of the 2nd IAG Partner Roundtable included the following topics:

• Identity Governance 3.0 and Identity Manager 4.7
• Web-based frontends as business drivers for IDM environments
• Access Manager 4.4 – new features for B2B & B2C installations
• MF Consulting SAP Integration Packs for SAP HR, SAP USER, and SAP GRC
• SaaS powered by Micro Focus

The presentations and product demos were delivered by DACH region presales and consulting specialists such as Stefan Stiehl, Klaus Scherbach, and Holger Dopp, who were also available for questions and discussions.

The highlight of the IAG Roundtable for our IAM consultants was clearly the roadmap and outlook for the upcoming Micro Focus NetIQ IAM products: Identity Manager 4.7 and Identity Governance 3.0, both set to launch early next year. We are looking forward to further optimized integration of Identity Manager and Governance, and to many new features—such as major simplifications in the development and deployment of role-based target system integrations.

In closing, we would like to thank Micro Focus for hosting this excellent event. While there are already many events for partners and customers—such as Micro Focus Universe, the MF Summit, and Open Horizons—that offer product updates, what was previously missing was a dedicated partner event solely focused on Identity, Access and Governance. Micro Focus has recognized that true collaboration with partners in this field can only succeed when they are well-informed.

We have since learned that Micro Focus now plans to hold two IAG Partner Roundtables per year. High praise for that—we will definitely continue to attend regularly.
