Knowledge Exchange with the Product Management Team of Micro Focus / NetIQ for IGA / IAM Products

It was truly a great recognition of our work and commitment to be invited as one of only three partners from the German-speaking region to the Micro Focus IGA Summit in Berlin. A particular highlight for us was that our Managing Directors, Peter Dauner and Ingo Ruhloff, were able to directly exchange ideas with the Identity & Access Management product management team (Rick Wagner – Director of Product Management, Patrick Cahoon and Kamal Narayan – Product Management). We received first-hand insights into the latest updates of the current Micro Focus Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) products and obtained detailed information about the future roadmap.

Current Status and Outlook for Access Governance

Another highlight was the update and future direction of Access Governance. Micro Focus / NetIQ has always been a leader in the field of Identity Management / User Provisioning, but slightly weaker functionalities in Access Governance had previously prevented Gartner from placing Micro Focus / NetIQ in the upper right quadrant for Identity Governance and Administration (IGA).

This is precisely the area where Micro Focus / NetIQ has made significant progress. With the introduction of its new product, Access Review, it has already won numerous customers this year. Two more releases planned for next year will ensure the product becomes fully comparable to solutions from vendors such as SailPoint or Aveksa.

During a demonstration of Access Review, it was immediately evident that the product was developed from the ground up based on customer requirements. Access Review is extremely user-friendly, clearly structured, and easy to use. Micro Focus / NetIQ was able to capitalize on its later market entry in Access Governance by avoiding many of the design and development mistakes made by its competitors.
