From June 20–21, we participated as an exhibitor at MFSummit2017, the annual customer event hosted by Micro Focus. The venue was the Classic Remise, a listed, renovated and extremely popular old roundhouse that today houses and showcases classic cars. The program included numerous presentations by Micro Focus experts and renowned customers on key challenges in application development, IT operations, and IT security.

Already on the first day of the conference, our booth was well attended during the presentation breaks and we had many engaging conversations with the participants—even though it was the hottest day of the year so far and quite warm on the upper gallery level. In every technical discussion, our focus areas—Identity Management, Access Management, and Identity Governance—were consistently confirmed as top priorities for organizations.

The evening event, a barbecue in the Classic Remise beer garden, also offered all participants and exhibitors additional opportunities to network and reflect on the day’s presentations and discussions.

As even higher temperatures were forecast for the second conference day, the organizers from Micro Focus and the exhibitors jointly decided to move the booths to the foyer on the ground floor, where it was significantly cooler. As seen in the photos, our booth was now right in the middle—offering even better opportunities to connect with participants during lunch and coffee breaks. Of course, we made the most of it and held many more interesting conversations. Most of our discussion partners agreed that due to current IT trends such as digitization, IoT, cloud services, and the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), there is no alternative to a professional Identity & Access Management solution.

The participants also expressed great interest in our service portfolio as IAM consultants and system integrators for Micro Focus / NetIQ IAM products—and we are confident that some of these contacts will lead to exciting consulting engagements or projects.

A special highlight for us was an exclusive guided tour through the Classic Remise with an experienced guide (pictured with the horn in hand in the final photo). We learned a great deal about the architectural features of the building—and heard many fun stories about special vintage cars.
