Ruhloff & Dauner auf der European Identity and Cloud Conference 2025 - englisch

From May 6 to 9, 2025, the international identity and cybersecurity community gathered once again in Berlin at the European Identity and Cloud Conference (EIC) - Europe’s leading event on digital identities, cybersecurity, data protection, and governance in an increasingly AI-driven world. According to the organizer KuppingerCole Analysts, the EIC 2025 set a new attendance record with over 1,500 participants, 230 sessions, and more than 300 experts, once again serving as a key driver for the future of digital infrastructures.

The conference holds great importance for us every year, which is why we were represented on site with three participants. As in previous years, the event not only provided an ideal platform for exchanging ideas with partners, customers, and industry experts, but also offered valuable inspiration for upcoming developments in an increasingly AI-driven identity landscape. In addition to four days of high-quality content — including in-depth workshops, panel discussions, and interactive sessions — we also enjoyed a series of special community experiences. A sunset boat tour on the River Spree and the traditional EIC Morning Run encouraged networking among attendees and contributed to an unforgettable conference atmosphere.

This year, the exchange with other conference participants proved to be even more dynamic than in previous years. Alongside our core consulting topics around Identity & Access Management and the focus on role management, our new Quick IAM Access App for One Identity, which we launched this year, also attracted significant interest.

Our Highlights and Impressions from EIC 2025

As in previous years, we’re taking away many positive impressions from the EIC. Once again, the event offered an excellent platform for professional exchange, new impulses, and personal connections around digital identities, Identity & Access Management, and cloud security.

Ingo’s Impressions

For Ingo, the many pleasant and inspiring conversations with vendors and partners — some of whom we’ve worked with successfully for many years — were a clear highlight.

His professional highlights included the following presentations and insights:

  • Martin Kuppinger: “The Identity Fabric for the 2040s”
In his keynote, Martin Kuppinger outlined the strategic foundations for digital identities in an age of quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and decentralization. He made it clear that organizations must begin laying the groundwork today for a future-proof Identity Fabric to remain capable of action in the long term.
  • Insights into the solutions of YOUNIQX Identity AG
Particularly exciting was the look into the technologies and products of YOUNIQX Identity AG, a subsidiary of the Austrian State Printing House (OeSD). The company specializes in secure digital identity solutions such as eIDs, mobile documents, and identity verification.
Notably, these solutions will no longer be limited to governments and citizens, but are now being positioned for enterprise use as well — an approach we plan to consider in future projects.

Theo’s Highlights

Theo experienced EIC 2025 as a lively and varied event. The following stood out to him in particular:

  • The very informative — and at times humorous — presentations that reflected current developments and trends in the market,
  • The opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, build new relationships, and have meaningful personal conversations,
  • Discovering interesting, in some cases new, products and vendors that could lead to future partnerships,
  • Deepening existing partnerships with various companies — sometimes during evening events or on the Spree boat tour.

Peter’s Summary

Unfortunately, Peter was only able to join EIC starting on the second day of the conference this year. While that brought some limitations, there were still many positive takeaways:

  • Missing the keynotes on the first day was unfortunate, as it made it difficult to fully engage in later discussions,
  • Overall, there was less time for exchange, networking, and building new relationships,
  • Clear takeaway: next year, be there from day one.

What stood out most positively to him:

  • The presentation by Andreas Zickner and Lisa Zimmermann, which humorously and ironically showed how many SAP IdM customers are ignoring the upcoming end of maintenance and the resulting pressure to consider a migration strategy,
  • The boat tour on the Spree, which once again created space for valuable connections — and this year, without rain.

Conclusion

EIC 2025 once again proved why it’s a fixed date in our calendar. The combination of professional depth, relevant future topics, and personal connections made the conference a true value-add. In particular, the in-depth conversations with long-time companions, partners, and new contacts gave the event the feeling of a class reunion for the identity community. With many new ideas, strengthened relationships, and fresh inspiration, we’re already looking forward to EIC 2026.
